The Genesis log style is composed of 6" x 12" kiln-dried logs
that are flat on both the inside and outside. The Genesis
style uses a dovetail notch corner style. Although this
style uses a foam gasket between
the logs to create an air-tight seal, it also includes
space for chinking (the white sealer between the logs)
that adds a dramatic visual element
to your home. The inside surface is planed to a smooth
surface, but the outside is rustic to imitate the cabin style of previous
centuries.
 The
Milled "D" log style, illustrated on the left and right,
is composed of 8" x 8" kiln-dried logs that are flat on the
inside and rounded on the outside. The Milled "D" style uses
a large, single tongue and groove corner style. As with
the Genesis style, the Milled "D" uses a foam gasket between
the logs to create an air-tight seal. Both the inside and the outside are dressed to a smooth
surface, adding a touch of elegance to a rustic design.
The Original Chinked log style is composed of 6" x 10" kiln-dried
logs that are flat on both the inside and outside. The
Original Chinked style, like the Genesis style, uses a dovetail notch
corner style. Using
tongue and groove stacking, rigid insulation is placed
on the inside and outside of the tongue of the log, followed by a flexible
and impenetrable
chinking compound. Like the Genesis style, the inside surface is planed
to a smooth surface, but the outside is rustic.
The Interlocking Round log style is composed of 8" x 8" kiln-dried
logs that are rounded on both the inside and outside.
The Interlock Round style, of course, uses an interlocking corner style.
Like the
Genesis and Milled "D" style, this style uses a foam gasket
between the logs to create an air-tight seal. Like the Milled "D" style, both the inside and the outside
are dressed to a smooth surface.
If you want a cedar siding finish to your new home, Woods Hill Log
Homes also offers the Timber Frame System, that is composed of post
and beam timbers covered with Western Red Cedar siding. This style includes
4' x 8' "sandwich" wall panels. These panels have sheetrock
inside, EPS insulation in the middle, and exterior sheathing.
